Lemmer: water, beach and Frisian charm

Lemmer is one of the most popular water sports destinations in Friesland, and you notice it the moment you arrive. This atmospheric Frisian village on the IJsselmeer combines a lively harbour, a historic centre and a relaxed holiday atmosphere. From Marina Lemmer you can stroll to cosy restaurants, waterside terraces and the characteristic village centre with its old warehouses, locks and charming shops.

For water lovers this is the perfect destination. Lemmer sits at the transition between the IJsselmeer and the Frisian Lakes, meaning you can sail out onto open water directly from the marina. Simply hire a motorboat or kayak and discover Friesland from the water.

Just 500 metres away lies the popular Lemmer beach, a surprisingly beautiful sandy beach on the IJsselmeer. Here you can swim, sunbathe or enjoy a stunning sunset over the water.

There is plenty to discover on land as well. The surrounding area offers wonderful walking and cycling routes past lakes, wide-open polders and characteristic Frisian villages. Visit the historic fortified town of Sloten, the picturesque Hindeloopen on the IJsselmeer coast, or take a trip to Sneek, famous for its magnificent Waterpoort and lively centre. From Lemmer you can effortlessly explore the finest corners of Friesland, including the famous Eleven Cities route and the expansive Frisian Lakes.

Whether you come for a relaxing stay on the water, an active water sports holiday or to discover the charm of Friesland, Lemmer offers the very best of the region, right from the marina.

Good to know

The houseboat offers all the charm of staying on the water, but remains moored in a fixed berth throughout your stay. Because you are right on the water and can easily reach it from the terrace, we recommend that children hold a swimming certificate.

EXTRA INFORMATION! You can also moor here with your own sloop provided the maximum width is 2.50 (then it will fit alongside the Houseboat).
