Lemmer: water, beach and Frisian hospitality

Lemmer is one of the most popular watersports destinations in Friesland, and you feel it the moment you arrive. This charming Frisian village on the IJsselmeer combines a lively harbour, a historic town centre and a relaxed holiday atmosphere. From Marina Lemmer you can easily walk to cosy restaurants, waterside terraces and the characterful village centre with its old warehouses, locks and lovely shops.

For water lovers, this is the perfect destination. Lemmer sits at the junction of the IJsselmeer and the Frisian Lakes, meaning you can sail straight out onto open water from the marina. Simply hire a motorboat or kayak and discover Friesland from the water.

Just 500 metres away lies the popular Lemmer beach, a surprisingly beautiful sandy beach on the IJsselmeer. Here you can swim, sunbathe or enjoy a stunning sunset over the water.

There is plenty to discover on land too. The surrounding area offers beautiful walking and cycling routes along lakes, vast polders and characteristic Frisian villages. Visit the historic fortified town of Sloten, the picturesque Hindeloopen on the IJsselmeer coast, or take a trip to Sneek, known for its famous Waterpoort and vibrant centre. From Lemmer you can effortlessly explore the finest corners of Friesland, including the legendary Eleven Cities and the expansive Frisian Lakes.

Whether you come for a relaxing stay on the water, an active watersports holiday or to discover the charm of Friesland, Lemmer offers the very best of the region, right from the marina.

Good to know

The houseboat offers all the charm of a stay on the water but remains moored in a fixed berth throughout your stay. As you are right on the water and can reach it easily from the terrace, we recommend that children hold a swimming certificate.

EXTRA INFORMATION! You can also moor here with your own sloop provided the maximum width is 2.50 (then it will fit alongside the Houseboat).
